On January 31 the U.S. Senate voted 93-6 to confirm the nomination Elaine Chao to become Secretary of Transportation. Secretary Chao formerly served as Secretary of Labor (2001-2009) in the George W. Bush administration. Without question Secretary Chao’s federal experience will help President Trump fulfill his ambitious campaign promise of infrastructure redevelopment throughout the U.S.
Chao also previously served as Deputy Secretary of Transportation under President George H. W. Bush.
