Cansler Consulting’s Founder, Tim Cansler, was recently honored with the Distinguished Service Award by the Society for Range Management (SRM) (www.rangelands.org) during their 2011 Annual Meeting in Billings, Montana. Recipients are honored for their significant contribution to the profession of range management. Cansler received the distinction for his service as Executive Vice President of SRM in front of an audience of 800 SRM members.
During his tenure Cansler provided organizational leaders with a business plan containing alternative practices to employ that allowed the organization to be effective within its budget. Cansler was also instrumental in putting together a professional team that included experts in accounting, investment, legal and information technology that carried out the organization’s business functions and allowed organizational leaders to focus on their mission.
Society for Range Management
SRM is a professional scientific society and conservation organization whose members are concerned with studying, conserving, managing and sustaining the varied resources of rangelands that comprise nearly half the land in the world. The distinguished service award is given at the discretion of the Board of Directors to individuals that make significant contributions to SRM.
Established in 1948, SRM has over 4,000 members in 48 countries, including many developing nations. SRM’s members are land managers, scientists, educators, students, producers and conservationists. SRM’s mission is to promote the professional development and continuing education of members and the public and the stewardship of range land resources.
