Cansler Consulting’s Founder and Chief Strategist, Tim Cansler, was among graduates of the Lobbyist Certification Program (LCP) and was awarded his Professional Lobbying Certificate (PLC) during the 2012 American League of Lobbyists (ALL) annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

The Lobbyist Certificate Program (LCP) is today’s gold standard for certifying that government relations professionals possess in-depth knowledge of legislative and political processes plus the rules, regulations and ethics that shape lobbying requirements—and success—in the “new” Washington.

“This designation shows that these lobbyists have completed a rigorous training program focused on enabling them to conduct their craft with the highest level of skill and ethical standards,” said Danielle Staudt ALL Executive Director.

Guided by a faculty that includes America’s top lobbying experts, members of national media, and top Hill staff lobbyists who complete their PLC now stand at the top of their field. Started nearly a decade ago, the LCP ensures that lobbyists are not only in full compliance with the law, but practicing with a full set of tools to effectively guide legislative proposals through the policy making process.

Each year companies, labor unions, non-profits and other organizations hire lobbyists to influence Congress and federal agencies on proposed legislation, enacted laws and rules. In 2012, the Center for Responsive Politics counted just over 12,000 unique, registered lobbyists who have actively lobbied in Washington, DC.  Of those, a little more than 100 lobbyists have attained their Professional Lobbying Certificate.
