In mid-March the Trump Administration released its so called “skinny budget” a 175-page blueprint of the U.S. budget that specifies the main priorities of the Trump administration. The budget proposal cuts the
Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) budget by 31 percent from its current level, from $8.1 billion to $5.7 billion. The Presidents budget proposes to cut 3,200 positions, about 20 percent of the agency’s current workforce of about 15,000.

Scott Pruitt, Administrator, Environmental Protection Agency
Even amidst proposed administrative budget cuts the new EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt is supporting much needed investments in U.S. water infrastructure. During the U.S. Conference of Mayors winter meeting in Washington, D.C. in early March, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt ensured U.S. Mayors, “I want you to know that with the White House and with Congress, I am communicating a message that the brownfields program, the Superfund program, water infrastructure grants are essential to protect.”
